AI precision.
We built a 20–30 layer AI production pipeline from the ground up. The result: cinema-quality content in days, not months, at a fraction of what traditional production costs. Our team brings decades of experience from Gladiator, Star Wars and Batman, now paired with the most powerful generative AI tools available. Here is how a project moves through it.
Stage 01 · It starts on the page
Script & story development
Every film starts with the story. Our writers and directors develop the concept, treatment and script, using AI to explore ideas, test structure and break every scene down into the shots we will need.

Stage 02 · Building the world
Visual generation
We design the world of the film before a single shot is generated: storyboards, characters, costumes, assets and environments, each locked for consistency so every frame belongs to the same film. Then we generate and animate the shots.

Stage 03 · What you feel
Sound & music
Sound is half the film. We create voices, dialogue and sound design, and compose original scores with AI, calibrated to the emotional arc of every scene and mixed for cinema, broadcast and social.

FAQ
Frequently asked
questions.
01What is AI film production?
AI film production uses a modular pipeline of AI tools for story development, visual generation, motion, editing, sound and design to produce cinematic films and brand content faster and at lower cost than traditional production. At Dreamcatcher Films that pipeline runs to 20 to 30 layers, and every stage is directed by people with decades of Hollywood experience.
02How much does AI film production cost?
Dreamcatcher Films produces cinematic content from £1,200 to £3,600 per finished minute, up to £4,600 per minute for high-end cinematic work. A 2 to 3 minute film typically costs about £6,900 to £8,000, compared with $80,000 to $150,000 for a comparable traditional pitch video.
03How fast can a film be delivered?
Delivery can take days rather than weeks. For ADNOC × Formula 1, we delivered a one-minute cinematic film plus a 30-second social trailer in four days, at about 90% less than traditional production.
04Is AI video good enough for broadcast and cinema?
Yes, and the biggest names in entertainment already use it. Netflix used generative AI for a building-collapse sequence in The Eternaut and said it was completed ten times faster than with traditional VFX (eWeek, 2025). Amazon's House of David used AI-generated shots in its production (TheWrap, 2025). The craft is in the finishing: direction, grading, sound and editing are what turn generated footage into a finished film.
05How widely are brands using AI video?
Fast. 86% of video ad buyers are using or planning to use generative AI to build video ads, and advertisers expect it to be used in 40% of all ads by 2026 (IAB, 2025). 41% of businesses used AI for video creation in 2025, up from 18% the year before (Wistia, 2025). Audiences are more mixed: about half enjoy AI visuals in ads, but over 60% worry about misleading AI ads (Kantar, 2025). That is why craft, honesty and a strong creative idea matter more than the tool.
06Which AI feature films are already made or in development?
Several. Critterz, an animated feature backed by OpenAI and produced by London's Vertigo Films, was made on a nine-month schedule for under $30 million, against the $100 to $200 million typical of a major animated feature, and went to the Cannes market in 2026 (France 24, 2025; Deadline, 2026). Dreams of Violets became the first fully AI-generated live-action feature to premiere at a major festival, at Tribeca in June 2026 (Variety, 2026). Our own slate includes Time Warriors, Warrior King, Warrior Women, Crown of Thorns, Secrets of the Catacombs and Sherlock Holmes: The New Adventures.
07Who owns the copyright in AI-generated footage?
It depends on where you are and how much human creativity goes in. In the UK, section 9(3) of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 has protected computer-generated works, but in March 2026 the government concluded that protection should be removed, while works made with AI assistance stay protected (UK Government, 2026). In the US, purely AI-generated material is not protected and prompts alone are not enough (US Copyright Office, 2025). Human creative choices matter in both. We recommend taking legal advice for your specific project.
08Can you use real actors, or someone's likeness or voice?
Only with clear, informed consent. SAG-AFTRA's 2025 Commercials Contract requires clear and conspicuous consent before a performer's digital replica is created or used (SAG-AFTRA, 2025), and the UK government is considering a new right covering digital replicas (UK Government, 2026). If your film features a real person, we put written consent in place before production begins.
09How do you keep characters and quality consistent?
Consistency is the hardest part of AI film, and it is why a studio process beats one-off prompting. We lock characters, costumes, locations and style references before any footage is generated, then build every shot from them. Each shot is checked for continuity, and the film is finished with human editing, colour and sound. Even Coca-Cola's AI holiday campaign reportedly involved curating around 70,000 generated clips (Marketing Dive, 2025).
10What can't AI do yet?
It cannot replace judgement. AI still struggles with long unbroken takes, complex physical interactions and reproducing real products or logos exactly without careful control. It does not know your brand, your audience or your story. People write the script, set the tone, choose the performances and shape the edit. When a shot needs live action, the best result is often a blend of filmed footage and AI.
11Can I invest in your original films?
Yes. Alongside client work, Dreamcatcher Films develops original feature films, and our slate is open to investment. AI production is changing the economics of film: Critterz was planned for under $30 million against the $100 to $200 million typical of a major animated feature (France 24, 2025). Get in touch and we will share our current slate and how investment works.
12What do you need from me to start?
A brief, even a rough one: what the film is for, who will watch it, where it will run and your deadline. Brand guidelines, product assets and reference films all help. If real people or voices appear, we will ask for their written consent. We agree the script and the look before generation starts, so you see the direction early and approve it at each stage.
