Kenzo: an anime and live-action AI fashion film

For Kenzo Paris, Dreamcatcher Films made a brand storytelling film that moves between anime and live action. It tells the story of how the house's founder, Kenzo Takada, first saw art in clothes, and the early influences that shaped one of the most distinctive names in Paris fashion.

The brief

Kenzo is a fashion house built on one person's way of seeing. Kenzo Takada, the Japanese designer who founded the house in Paris, looked at clothes and saw art. The film needed to tell that origin story in a way that felt as original as the brand itself.

What we made

We made a hybrid film that moves between anime and live action on a real-life stage. The anime passages carry the memory and imagination of Kenzo's early life, the moments that inspired him. The live-action world grounds that story in the present, where his ideas became clothes.

Blending the two styles is where AI film production shines. Each world has its own look, and the pipeline lets them hand over to each other seamlessly, something that would take a traditional animation studio and a film crew working side by side for months.

Why it matters for fashion brands

Luxury fashion runs on story and on visual identity. AI film production lets a house tell its heritage in a style that no stock shoot can match, and do it at a pace that keeps up with the fashion calendar. For Kenzo, the result is a film that sits at the intersection of fashion, animation and cinema.
